Campredon – art & image – has had a facelift in every sense of the word. The general state of mind switches to another vision of artistic creation. In future programming, exhibitions of works by a creator give way to diversified sources in multiple techniques that find a semblance of coherence through a predetermined theme.
The first version on show evolves around gravity, an important subject in the evolution of our current era. There are many creators, from all walks of life, with diverse know-how: Adrien M & Claire B • Charlotte CHARBONNEL • Pierre COMTE • Cédric DELSAUX • Christine FERRER • FORGETMAT • Geneviève GLEIZE • Stéphane GUIRAN • Sylvie HÉNOT • Yves KLEIN • Eduardo KAC • Jacques Henri LARTIGUE • Jan MARSHALL & Joseph MC SHANE • Cristina DE MIDDEL • Renaud MARION • Bernard PLOSSU • Anne PHAREL • Anne REARICK • Gabriel SOBIN • François VIOL. Some known, even recognized signatures, associated with some unknowns in the way of contemporary art in tune with the times.
Regarding our photographic part, I regret a little the lack of works of importance and quality for this theme which has so often been a source of inspiration. This is surely explained by the new difficulties (essentially legal and administrative) in obtaining works, given the number of intermediaries flourishing in the circuits. The organizers compensate by showing a few renowned signatures.
Campredon, one of the valuable museum of Isle sur la Sorgue, renounces its title of Museum or Space, to find its own place with multiple artistic activities, in the wave of current fashions. We wish the Artistic Director finds the right positioning for the specifications defined by the City. Photography has always had an important place in these magical places, we hope it will remain important with images that live up to justified ambitions.
