Mekong river in Vietnam
Every September to November is the Mekong Delta flood season. The city is full of water over the road, and the landscape become very unusual. Many markets on the water are established, most of them selling articles of everyday use.
Many traditional festival and activity start, it is the happiest period for children who can enjoy playing on the river.
Born and living in Saïgon, Hoang The Nhiem is a free lance photographer, traveling extensively throughout Vietnam as well as South East asia. He is a self taught photographer with a deep passion for landscape and travel photography. Nhiem accumulated years of experiences in digital photography and fine art printing through his continued learning and exploring. Since 2006, he has had exhibitions in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Fnac in Paris and Brussels, Washington. Those pictures are part of a 4 books serie dedicated to the four seasons of Vietnam.
Although the jury have not selected this story, I liked the smiling way with which this photographer looks at his country.
