WOPART – Work on Paper Art Fair, the international fair devoted exclusively to work on paper at the Lugano Exhibition Centre (Swiss Ticino). Its 3rdedition hosts 71 major galleries from 14 countries, showing exhibits that range from drawings to graphics and photography.
Alongside the Main section, there are a new Emergent section featuring 14 galleries and the 2ndedition of Real – Rassegna di Editoria d’Arte di Lugano, a review of the art publishing industry in Lugano. There is also an extensive schedule of main and side events both inside and outside the trade fair pavilions. For instance, the photographic exhibitions entitled Buby Durini for Joseph Beuys: Difesa della Natura in the worldshowcasing works from the Zurich Kunsthaus and Viaggio nel tempo. Un racconto per immagini, looking at the work of artists like Mario Cresci and Luigi Ghirri, among others. The schedule includes WOPART Public Program with conversations, educational activities, interviews with artists, art critics and consultants. Another concomitant project is the Lugano Art Week, with official openings in partnership with the City of Lugano and its leading associations involved in informing about modern and contemporary art in the city, culminating in the Gallery Night( 21 September).
