Good morning,
Why the reduced content in our newsletter and on our site this morning? Because our financial situation is taking too long to fall into place, and we do not want to put ourselves in danger. Right now is one of the most precarious times for digital only magazines. A bit ridiculous, when you see our audience numbers place us 1st in France and 5th in the world for media dedicated to photography.
Created in 2013, the magazine employs fifteen people in Paris and New York. Furthermore, independent journalists, exhibition curators, museum directors, and enthusiasts create our unique web of contributors. In five years, The Eye of Photography has published more than 25,000 stories, 200,000 high definition photographs, 400 interviews, and 3,000 portfolios, which are consulted by three million readers per year.
New technology is a risk but also an innovative way to develop a media outlet. You can find these massive transformations and permanent improvements in these past few weeks with the launch of an application and the first geolocated agenda identifying photo events around the world. It is a remarkable example of service development offered by a magazine.
Every week, we think of new challenges. We want to become the number one photography reference on the internet by continuing our SEO. We want to form a large archive of films on photography. We want to create versions in Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and German. We want to envision platforms and services that will revolutionize the world of cultural media, to embrace all the technological possibilities offered to us with the same dynamic as a start-up.
To satisfy this thirst for projects, we have decided to look for funding partners who share the same passion and are conscious of The Eye of Photography’s enormous potential. If you have the same craving, contact us!
