The eleventh issue of doc! photo magazine is now available. Every month, this Polish magazine publishes eight portfolios of international photographers and an interview with a personality from the photo world. This month, doc! photo magazine interviewed Tadeusz Rolke, a photographer born in 1929 and a pioneer in contemporary Polish photojournalism, featuring photographs taken from his work The Sabbath at Shmulik’s.
When talking about meaning of documentary photography, Tadeusz Rolke said: “It is a kind of power whose strength is still confirmed. (…) I admire this word. This kind of photography is awfully needed and I don’t know what our world would look like if we didn’t have it.”
The remaining photo stories and photographers of the issue are:
– White Power by Anna Bedynska (this year’s winner of World Press Photo)
- Dreamseekers by Gratiane de Moustier
– One Day a Year by Karol Baginski
– [Hyphen]-Americans: Tintype Portraits by Keliy Anderson-Staley
– L.A. Drive-by by Michael Lange
– Social Life at the Beach by Oliver Weber
