Afghanistan
“Pour la France” – Les blessures d’une guerre.
Philippe de Poulpiquet
In 2011, 24 French soldiers were killed in Afghanistan. A black year that marks 10 years of french presence in the country, since 2001, 82 french soldiers were killed. The institution throws a veil over these men who died for France. And it is in an almost general indifference that French families honor their dead. In this distant conflict, a father, a missing husband are lost, but also men are wounded, maimed. France, which until now had 4,000 soldiers in the NATO force, has repatriated late October its first 200 soldiers. By 2014, all will have left Afghanistan.
