These photographs of Iceland were taken during three trips in 2010, 2011 and 2013.
Beyond the beauty of this country, its landscapes and its light, I’m trying to create personal photographs that correspond to vague projects within me that will be be given concrete expression through photography. I try to capture the location, the moment, and take them into my imagination in order to turn them into images, pretexts for dreams…
Two rather different series took shape. A series of “conceptual landscapes” where the landscape, reduced to a simple idea of a landscape, an abstraction, mixed with other elements like rain or fog become unreal… And a rather theatrical series, where the landscape becomes a set piece in a play or an opera where little characters play the role of humans against the magnificent scenery… This is a work in progress, and will be continued this summer during my next trip, my new quest for images… These photographs are encounters. I never intervene in the situations.
