The Victoria & Albert Museum opens a new center dedicated exclusively to photography. The building will be built by David Kohn Architects agency. The opening is scheduled in Autumn 2018. The center’s collection will gather 250 000 photographs given by the Royal Photographic Society and gather collections from the Science Museum Group and the National Media Museum in Bradford. More than 500,000 works, nearly 8,000 cameras and 400,000 objects related to photography will make the center the largest photographic collection in the world.
Programm will be built not only on exhibitions but also on a photographic festival, digital ressources and educational courses in partnership with the Royal College of Arts.
