The “open call” as with every year has no theme constrictions or entry fee and applicants just need to submit 10 images, a description of the project and a short biography, by April 16th.
The images submitted must not have been published on or offline before.
This global open call is entitled Unpublished Photo. It is aimed at young and emerging new photographers, between the ages of 18 and 30 years. The competition was first conceived in 2018, and it attracts year on year a growing number of young artists from all over the world.
The Fondazione culture e musei and MUSEC museum in Lugano, in collaboration with the 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery in Milan and the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in Venice are behind the 5th annual photographic “Open call – aimed at young, emerging talent.
MUSEC will present the finalist’s works to the public, exhibiting them from 15 December 2023 to 18 February 2024 in Lugano at its Villa Malpensata venue (Switzerland).
As in the previous editions, a competent jury composed of leading figures from the world of culture and photography will as in previous years, select four finalist photographers from the participants.
The UP23 competition will award the overall winner a monetary prizes of: Swiss francs 2,000; then 1,500 Swiss francs to the second runner-up whilst the third and fourth finalists will each receive 1,000 Swiss francs.
