The Yagon Photo Festival (Myanmar) ninth edition just opened. From March 3-19, the festival takes place for the very first time in the heart of Mahabandoola Park, right in front of the Yangon City Hall.
The YPF has trained about 500 photo-journalists and documentary photographers since its beginning. Social and journalistic photographies has always been at the core of its identity. Thus, the festival presents this year Dominic Nahr’s works, the 2017 World Press Photo winner. Retrospectives on Steve McCurry and Hans Silvester are also scheduled.
The Yangon French Institute is also hosting a Photography Night, displaying in the foreground Burmese photography Three exhibitions are devoted to artists of the ‘Golden Country’.
