Violence against women is not confined to a specific country or women’s group, it is a scourge taking shape around the globe. Every day, new complaints from women who have been sexually assaulted are revealed by the media. However, they are still too many not daring to talk for fear of not being heard and this despite the strengthening of legislation and the proliferation of prevention campaigns. These women are not only victims of violence, but are also condemned to suffer in silence. This is what the artist Annabelle Boyer highlights in her series Eve beside herself using dummies to illustrate her purpose.
