The Royal Photographic Society announced the recipients of its annual awards. The awards, which are supported by The Macallan, recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to the art and science of photography.
Among the recipients are,
Joel Meyerowitz, New York photographer, Centenary Medal
Kathy Ryan New York photo editor of The New York Times Magazine, Outstanding Service to Photography and Honorary Fellowship
Honorary Fellowship
Awarded to persons having, from their position or attainments, an intimate connection with the science, fine art or application of photography. No more than 8 awarded in one year.
Rineka Dijkstra. Dutch photographer and video artist
Sally Mann. American photographer, best known for photographing her family and the landscape of her native South.
Tim Walker. British fashion photographer.
and Stephen Perloff, editor of The Photograph Collector, curator and teacher
Marcus Bleasdale, British, one of the world’s leading photojournalists, Hood Medal
Dr Anthony Bannon , American, Former Director of George Eastman House 1996-2012, curator and writer, J. Dudley Johnston Award
