During the press conference of the 51st edition of the Meetings, organized in the hall of honor of the town hall of Arles, Sam Stourdzé, the director of the festival, confirmed his departure at the end of the summer. He has just been appointed head of the Villa Medicis in Rome and thanked the festival team and the people of Arles with two vibrant “I love you”. The mayor of Arles, Hervé Schiavetti, for his part, praised the work and commitment of the director, who made it possible to raise the festival to the level of those of Avignon and Aix in terms of fame.
Call for applications : In order to recruit their new director, the Rencontres d’Arles is launching an open call for applications which will allow them to assess not only the artistic, scientific, administrative and managerial skills of candidates for this demanding position, but also their vision. as for the next editions of the festival; the documents sent by the candidates should make it possible to assess all of these points.
Profile sought: Experience required in artistic direction and structure management. The task implies a high availability, especially for many trips in France and abroad. Excellent practice of French and English is essential.
