Exuberant, unreal, excessive, hectic, sometimes ruthless, New York seems nevertheless familiar even to those who have never stepped on its sidewalks. This paradox is the fact of cinema, literature, popular music. And photography. Whatever our origins, our age, our tastes, our course, we “know” New York. This exhibition at the Box Gallery in Brussels proposes to rediscover this mythical city by gathering, without distinction of time, the images of the following photographers: Marilyn Bridges, Langdon Clay, Larry Fink, Seymour Jacobs, Clemens Kalischer, Michael Kenna, Edward Steichen, Alfred Stieglitz and Michel Vanden Eeckhoudt. A beautiful project almost all in black and white.
