Starting June 1st, 2015, the Île de Ré in France will welcome the first photo festival to its wild beaches. Thanks to a dynamic photo club, the work of 30 amateur photographers will be on display in municipal buildings and local businesses in the island’s ten villages, with personal visions of subjects ranging from seashells, dunes, swampland, flowers and the deserts of Namibia to insects, Venice, Madagascar, statues, the sea and birds. Running through the end of the summer, the festival organizers, with the support of the island’s mayors and citizens, hope to offer a new image of the Île de Ré, showing off its beauty and culture.
