This week was again a bad one.
On Friday, January 16th, Tignous, a cartoonist killed during the Charlie Hebdo attacks was buried, the same day , The Times reported that somewhere in Syria, a woman was executed for running a brothel. The day after, the same paper published a photo of an accused gay man being thrown from a building somewhere in ISIS territory. On Sunday, the day of the Lord, The Observer reported that a blogger in Saudi Arabia was sentenced to ten years in prison and ten thousand lashes—fifty per week—for blasphemy. Demonstrations in Grozny, Beaucaire, Dresden—it all stinks. And last Sunday in Mecca, a woman was beheaded with a sword. And now ISIS is threatening to cut the throats of two Japanese.
The man in whose name this has all been done must be very strange indeed. Perhaps he’s been misunderstood? I hope so.
And best wishes to the American journalist at Fox News, a well-known source of misinformation.
