“No worries.” I heard that sentence a thousand times this summer, always delivered with an irritating little smile. But this review shows what there is to worry about. In two months of vacation, two new scourges: The Islamic State and Ebola. In both cases, there aren’t a lot of photos, which is understandable in the case of the IS; it would be suicide to try to photograph them. But photojournalists should be raising the public’s awareness of the catastrophe affecting Africa. There’s a lighter side to my review—animals, stupid races, fashion—but given everything else, from Ukraine and Afghanistan to poverty, there’s plenty in the world to worry about it.
