To mark the 35th anniversary of his death, the auction house Coutau-Bégarie decided to organize the first auction devoted entirely to Claude François. A whole year was necessary to prepare for the sale, because the many collectors of Claude François’ work are always reluctant to part with their objects and documents. Among the lots for sale are prints of François’ erotic photography. Shooting under the name François Dumoulin, he founded the magazine Absolu, in competition with Playboy.
One year after his death, a book of his photographs was published in France. We made the following presentation in Photo.
