Always present at New York art fairs, this Greek gallery is showcasing the photographs of Hrair Sarkissian, whose work is deeply marked by his personal experiences.His series are like private experiences in images (a familiar trend in contemporary photography) they offer a personal perspective along with a search for identity.
What is your personal experience of The Armory Show?
The Armory show is a very important platfom for international exposure of our gallery. Furthermore, there is a very important audience for photography in New York. Last year we presented with great success Works by the same Syrian photographer, Hrair Sarkissian, from his ‘Istory‘ series, while this year we are showing his works from ‘Churches‘ and ‘Zebiba‘ series.
For the upcoming year, what are your tendencies going to be?
Our gallery has developed a highly international profile through its focus on artists from the MENA region and the Balkans, acting as a bridge between east and west. This is reflected in the artistic programme on which we work with conviction to enrich and expand.
