At the Armory Show, Howard Greenberg is exhibiting a selection of images by star photographers in his collection. The stand features streets scenes by Joel Meyerowitz, Robert Frank and Gordon Parks, a self-portrait of newfound photo world darling Vivian Maier, a William Klein fashion photo, and a nude by Imogen Cunningham.
What is your personal experience of The Armory Show?
It’s been a great experience for us. We’ve had the opportunity to meet some amazing people that might not be as aware of the photography world.
What are the differences you noticed with your experience at AIPAD for example?
AIPAD is like old home week. It’s so great to see this community of people in one place; other dealers, long time collectors, friends. And it’s so much fun to see so much great photography under one roof, classics and new works alike.
For the upcoming year, what are your tendencies going to be?
We have several more fairs in the coming year. Paris Photo, LA. Basel, Switzerland. Paris Photo, Art Basel, Miami Beach. In terms of photographers, we have Bruce Davidson, Edward Burtynsky, James Karales and Vivian Maier all coming up in the next year.
