Founded in Nantes under the name Expolaroid in 2013, The Analog Festival has been held in Paris since its parting from Polaroid in 2022. This event also provided an opportunity to bring traditional alternative techniques into its scope, in addition to instant photography.
Ossage 13 kicked off at the Galerie Parallax in Aix-en-Provence on February 22nd with collodion, and will conclude on June 13th at the Café des Liens in Paris’s 20th arrondissement with Polaroid.
The 2025 program is spread out from Paris to Surgères via Le Mans, with 20 exhibitors occupying 15 locations, including galleries, a community center, bookstores, and a community café.
After highlighting collodion last year, this year’s edition will feature cyanotypes, whose fundamentals remain the instant image, with its pictorial twists, transformations, and accidents that give it its charm.
This spring, cyanotype workshops and Polaroid emulsion transfer workshops will feature instant photography and historical alternative processes. An exhibition will also be the occasion for the launch of a monographic work dedicated to a great Polaroid artist, who won the Best of France award at the 7th European Final Art Awards of Polaroid in 1998.
The historical partners who accompany us (the Sajin Photo agency; the graphic designer Collorant Studio; the publisher Obcd Visuel; the graphic designer bjan; BotNation AI and the online media Polaroid Passion) will continue to support the Nation Photo group of stores in 2025, and the Union of Professional Photographers association, which hosts the festival every other year.
The festival opened on Thursday, March 14th and closes on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, with the main event taking place in April.
It features 15 exhibitions; 1 discovery day of the cyanotype technique; 1 open-house artist workshop; and finally, 20 practical sessions on transferring Polaroid emulsion onto alternative media.
This program is spread across Aix-en-Provence, Surgères, Le Mans, and Paris, with 20 exhibitors.
