For the Maison Roederer, now run by Frédéric Rouzaud, commitment is not an empty word.
Since 2003, his support for contemporary artistic creation has earned his Foundation the official recognition of Grand Patron of Culture. And under the brilliant impulse of Michel Janneau, partnerships have multiplied over the years with the BnF and the Palais de Tokyo, but also with the Critics Week in Cannes or the Discovery Award at the Rencontres d’Arles.
Not being the most visible, the Research Grant awarded by the Foundation has a real scientific vocation and helps to give this patronage all its credentials. It aims to promote the highlighting of the photographic collections of the BnF, thanks to an annual allocation of € 10,000.
On October 11, Laurence Engel, President of the BnF, and Michel Janneau presented the 14th Grant to Hélène Orain, PhD in Art History, which aims to document the richness of the Richelieu Library. the archival fonds of Jacques-Henri Lartigue entered the BnF in 2007 and is composed of 15,000 pieces of correspondence between the family, friends and professional relations of the artist, notebooks and drawings, typed versions of his diary, and personal photographs.
The jury of the Louis Roederer Research Fellowship was this year composed of representatives of the BnF including Denis Bruckmann, General Director of the Library, Michel Janneau, Secretary General of the Roederer Foundation, Caroline Fieschi, Head of the Heritage Department at the INHA Library and Karolina Lewandowska, curator at the Center Pompidou Photography Office.
