Ag Galerie presents a solo exhibition of recent works by its resident artist Mehrdad Naraghi.
The selection of fourteen photographs and a video titled The City are images of Tehran immersed in an unknown layer of grey from various locations of high elevation in the north of the city. Capturing its polluted air and its suffocating atmosphere, the calculated aesthetics of the series suggest not only a climatic catastrophe but also its effects on the society as a whole. It is a city at 1000 meters, of fourteen-million people, of air that is seen and a city that is breathed. Tehran’s air is both thin and thick….
