Sylvie Meunier and Patrick Tourneboeuf will present tomorrow Tuesday 28 March their new book American Dream in the Parisian bookstore Artazar. Published by Editions Textuel, this book brings together anonymous post-war snapshots, discovered in a random box found by the two authors.
Photographs shows the American middle-class during the 50s and 60s in traditional postures: around a car, in front of a pavilion, in their clothes marking economic success and social ease. The pride and joy of these individuals seem to radiate, making this social testimony amusing.
Pictures taken from American Dream will be exhibited among others in the collective and thematic exhibition Autophoto at Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain, starting on April 20th. Presentation and signatures will take place in the presence of the two authors from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
