Survival International and The Little Black Gallery announce the launch of its first photography competition, to mark the 45th anniversary of Survival International, and raise awareness of the threats to tribal peoples and their ways of life.
The twelve winning entries will be published in Survival’s 2015 Calendar, and be exhibited at The Little Black Gallery in December 2014. The competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers.
The judging panel includes actor and Survival Ambassador Gillian Anderson, BBC ‘Human Planet’ photographer Tim Allen, The Little Black Gallery Co-Founder Ghislain Pascal, and Jo Eede, Photography Editor of Survival International.
The competition categories are:
. Lands: images that show the intimate relationship between tribal peoples and their lands across continents
. Human diversity: portraits of individuals, families, relationship between parents and children, elderly, etc
. Ways of life: for e.g. hunting and gathering; rituals and ceremonies; life at home; nomadism
