But Scheveningen is also a Dutch seaside resort.
Beach along the North Sea, it is lined all along with bars and restaurants, most of the time deserted.
To warm up, customers are entitled to braziers. All this is absolutely kitsch, you have to believe that people from the North like it.
But for me, however absurd such a pasteboard decor may be, Scheveningen is the country of my wife’s ancestors; going there by bike is a tradition that I love despite everything.
