These photographs were made in City of London churches over the spring/summer of 2017, a period of tragedy and political intrigue that seemed to fill the air with a sense of despair and anxiety.
In these interiors of London churches, the careful placing of everyday objects within the church, suggest a reverential human connection with the spiritual, where remnants of daily life are equal to the intended religious paraphernalia. This project attempts to examines how subconscious arrangements of items can reveal a profound respect for the divine, and a search for meaning and clarity in troubled times.
