Stephan Würth :– Naked in a Ghost Town

Preview

An abandoned western gold rush town sets the stage for a photographic fantasy of three beautiful young women.

Ghost Town is the result of Stephan Würth‘s lifelong fascination with the American West. Since moving to the United States from his native Germany, photographer Stephan Würth has been fascinated with the subliminal landscape of the American West and the isolation and freedom of infinite desert horizons. Würth captures this geographical romance with the new series Ghost Town. These photographs narrate the tale of three women as they journey through Nevada, where they soon find themselves stranded with a broken-down car on the side of a desolate road. What happens next is the story that unfolds in Ghost Town. Würth skillfully frames the essence of these women through his lens: capturing their boldly flirtatious and sensual nature along with their strength, intelligence and independence; this delicately balanced play between indulgence and restraint is what brings the pictures to life.

German born photographer Stephan Würth has shot for Vogue (Latin America), GQ (UK, Italy and Germany), Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, Esquire, Flair Magazine and many other international magazines. He discovered photography at age fourteen during a family vacation in Spain; his favorite subjects were sun-bathing women on the Costa del Sol and continues to draw inspiration from the female form set against desert landscape. Today he lives in New York City with his wife Vanessa.

The book “Ghost Town” published by Damiani also features an epilogue by fashion and culture critic Lesley M. M. Blume.
