The project is a series portraits of graffiti/street artists in Paris. Now that urban art is slowly picking up pace and developing a lot around the world and Paris being one of the epicentre of this art’s development(as it has had many reputed artists who credited as the pioneers and also some artist now have been doing it for over 30years), its just right to show to the world the faces/identity of those who create these wonderful piece of art. These artists don’t act bourgeoisie and restrict their art to just to eyes of the rich but make it visible to all to see- in the streets. The portraits will be of the artist in front of his/her art-the art for which they are known for, his own unique style; as almost all such artist has a very individualistic style with which they go and are easily recognised by the same! The artist would be wearing a mask that he/she uses
while working or anything that they prefer to hide their identity with. This is because generally street/graffiti artist tend to lay down and wouldn’t want their identity shown (but such is not the case as many of their works are exhibited in galleries and then step would just be museums) and also that the art and artist are so intertwined with each other to such an extent that even when the art and artist is partially obscured we can identify each other with the strong bond that exists between them.
