The American photographer Stanley Greene died at the age of 68 on May 19th after fighting a long and serious illness. The NOOR agency invites its friends, relatives, admirers to follow its funeral at the crematorium of Père Lachaise this Friday, June 2 at 2:30 pm, with a red rose in hand. “Stanley’s favorite flower symbolizing the passion he had for his work and for life,” the agency said.
The photographer received five times the World Press Photo, the Albert Kahn International Prize (2011) and the W. Eugène Smith Award (2014). He was a member of the agency VU and known for his reports in Russia, the Caucasus or in Chechnya. Stanley Greene notably covered the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Rwandan genocide, the Chadian conflict and Afghanistan.
