On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, the Franco-Swiss photographer Bruno Barbey was inducted into the Academy of Fine Arts of the Institut de France in the section devoted to photography (created in 2005), joining Sebastião Salgado, inducted last December. The Eye of Photography publishes today his speech, in which he pays tribute to Jean-Luc Monterosso, the historical director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie.
