Nine series, an installation, four books and a video unfold in the first two rooms of L’Imagerie, her first founding trips to Asia – HAÏKUS MONGOLS (1996-2004), SIBERIAN SUITE (2000-2001) , ROADS OVER TROUBLED WATER (2005-2007) – until her most recent works (TO LIVE HERE, 2017), passing by SICILY, UNDER THE VOLCANO (2008) and her recent cycle entitled ARBORESCENCES around family memory and her Italian origins (MARIA E GIOVANNI, 2010; MAN-LANDSCAPE (ALEXANDER), 2015; IN THE MIRROR OF RICE FIELDS (MARIA), 2016).
Sophie Zénon extends this trilogy with a new series produced especially for the exhibition that she presents for the first time, ENFANCE (2017), a series of self-portraits made in the house of her childhood and adolescence, just before she got rid of it in October 2017.
Also in preview, Sophie Zénon presents her new book POUR VIVRE ICI, published in April 2019 by Loco editions, an atistic variation of her work on the Vosges site of Hartmannswillerkopf, completing the video and the photographs presented in the exhibition.
