About Lagerfeld, the Chanel Shows
Over the past decade, fashion shows have become monumental productions, demanding a level of sophistication, creativity and outbidding.
To capture the energy of these impressive shows, Simon Procter visually recreates the epic scenery – from a sumptuous forest scene to the launch of a rocket – by combining several photographs to illustrate in one single image, the many perspectives of the intense but always ephemeral spectacle. Simon Procter became the official photographer of Karl Lagerfeld’s shows for La Maison Chanel.
The resulting works of art are part of private collections of collectors from the 4 horizons and are published for the first time in this book. A collection of unpublished images of Lagerfeld’s shows and his backstage models. This book and the exhibition offer the reader a unique look at the ingenuity of one of the most respected creators in history.
