The Association for press freedom Reporter Sans Frontières just announced the publication of a new album by the French-photographer and member of Magnum Agency, Raymond Depardon. Raymond Depardon’s Olympic Games is taken from the collection of 100 photographs for the freedom of the press and includes portraits and scenes of life of major athletes in Olympic competition between 1964 and 1980.
As a reminder, the Olympic Games were held in Tokyo and Innsbruck (1964), Mexico City (1968), Grenoble (1970), Sapporo (1972), Munich (1972), Montreal and Innsbruck (1976), Moscow and Lake Placid (1980). ).
Some of Depardon’s photographs have remained famous, such as the fists raised by African-American athletes in Mexico City in 1968.
