Mobilize to defend reliable, free and independent information
For the past year, the Covid-19 pandemic has provided an opportunity for many governments to increase acts of aggression against journalists, regain control of the media and to release false information. In China, hundreds of whistleblowers and journalists disappeared for having denounced the failings of the regime in the face of the sanitary crisis. In India, the inhabitants of the Kashmir Valley have been completely deprived of internet network and information on Covid-19. In Iran, the authorities have stepped up convictions of journalists to better minimize the number of coronavirus-related deaths.
In this emergency context and to support independent journalists, RSF is launching a solidarity raffle on www.karmadon.org.
