being a twin, it is what influenced me the most in my life. In childhood, we completely share our lives, everything is double. After a certain age, our paths separate et we live on different sides, but the thread that links us never breaks. From the start we form an ensemble and we live a «double life», sometimes shared and sometimes separated, for ever.
Reiko Nonaka, Japanese photographer living in Paris since 2005. She herself has a twin sister, she works on this series « Double vie »(« Double life ») in France and Japan since 2012. She photographed 50 couples of twins until now. With this work, based on her own experiences as a twin, she tries to express the « double life » of each twin, as well as her own French-Japanese culture.
