Pieter Hugo is a white Africa living in Cape Town. His work has been widely published and exhibited in museums around the world. He received the rare honor of a retrospective at the Musée de L’Elysée in Lausanne in 2012, when he was only 36. His series explore South African identity and ideas of humanity, the representation of human beings, their color, wealth, poverty and history. Pieter Hugo stopped by Regardez-voir to discuss his exhibition KIN at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson. What he says is just as powerful as the pictures he takes…
