Spring 2017 sees CWC GALLERY becoming the stage for the creativity, inventiveness and expression of one photographer: Rankin. The exhibition includes more than 50 works created by Rankin from 1995 until today, giving a comprehensive insight into Rankin’s oeuvre. The exhibition invites the viewer to enter the world of Rankin. It presents works from different series – including iconic nudes of supermodels such as Heidi Klum, Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen, portraits of personalities like David Bowie, and several personal series that break from artistic conventions. Uniting the works is Rankin’s ability to question social norms and ideas of beauty, crossing artistic frontiers. Works by Rankin are part of international public and private collections and have been exhibited in museums worldwide. A retrospective was shown at NRW Forum in Dusseldorf in 2012 followed by exhibitions at Kunsthalle Rostock and National Portrait Gallery in London. After publishing more than 30 books in his career, his latest books entitled #NSFW and Hunger: The Book were recently published by teNeues (2016).
