Nicolas Aristidou is a Paris-based photographer and artist. He was born in Athens, Greece, and has been living in Paris for ten years.
Since an early age, Nicolas has had an intimate connection with photography, and went on to study Fine and Digital Arts at the University of Sorbonne in Paris. Inspired by the experimental cinema movement and the super 8 experimental artists, he first started work in video media by creating short films he called “faux clips.” His masters degree focused on the moving image and its link with time and space.
Nicolas’ work gives importance to rhythm both in photography and in film. In both media he has the same preoccupation with the interaction between dreams and reality, being and place, and time and space.
Following his studies, he worked as a photographer’s assistant for two years. This experience led him to his current work and interest in fashion photography.
