Hector Rene was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. After serving in Iraq Hector used the G.I. Bill to move to New York City and study photography at the School of Visual Arts. Hector was later invited to study Public Affairs at the Pentagon’s Dept. of Defense Information School in Washington DC. His work explores Identity, Patriotism, and the Military Industrial Complex through motif’s often found through out Art History.
Hector Rene has worked for Stephen Mallon a former President of ASMP-NY, The Museum of Modern Art, Magnum Photos, and Visual Artist Hank Willis Thomas. He will graduate with Honor’s from SVA this spring.
