But yes, there is still, in France, at least one photography festival that has not killed its “Off” version. Better still, at Pierrevert the benevolent coexistence borders on a true partnership. The important thing is Photography, isn’t it? The contribution of some has always benefited the others, which is even more true when the co-tenants of the premises do not play in the same register.
L’EtOFFe des Nuits, managed by the collective of the same name, has selected the works of about fifteen authors who exhibit in several places in the city.
As far as the photographs are concerned, there are not only masterpieces. But, that’s precisely the fun of “Off” in any festival. It is to be able to observe the different audiences, informed or not, to wonder about the work carried out by enthusiasts. It is to discover a more or less well hidden pearl. It is to allow authors to progress by being confronted. It is to open the door of the future to some without falling into this absurd precipitation which discovers and imposes on us stars in the cradles.
If you are in Pierrevert for the “In”, spend some time at the “Off” sites. Because everyone has forgotten it, but an essential quality for a photographer or a lover of photography remains and will remain curiosity.
