In 2005, « Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche » initiated the project «Photo d’Hôtel, Photo d’Auteur» to support contemporary photography. The concept is simple: each month a young photographer spends a night in one of the Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche to take a picture and prepares a text about this experience. The selected photo and text with an introduction about the artist will be on display on the Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche’s on line.
The PHPA prize on display at the Esther Woerdehoff gallery and at the Belle Juliette Hotel For the 2012 edition, there will be two separate exhibitions . From September 6-29, at the Esther Woerdehoff gallery, and at the Hôtel la Belle Juliette from October 1 through November 5, 2012. “We wanted to continue working with the Esther Woerdehoff gallery where such renowned artists as Camille Claudel and Constantin Brancusi once worked. It was only logical to continue the exhibition at the Belle Juliette Hotel, a superbe location providing visibility for contemporary photography in its exhibition hall that tells the story of an exceptional woman and patron of the arts, Madame Récamier.” Alain Bisotti

Carte Blanche 2012 : Magnum Photos
Each year, Alain Bisotti, artistic director, offers carte blanche to an artist whose work is revealed the evening of the opening. La Carte Blanche provides the opportunity for a photographer to take series of pictures about the hotels of the label Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche.
