British rock photographer Denis O’Regan, who has toured with David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Neil Diamond, Pink Floyd, traveled the world with David Bowie in 1983 for the “Serious Moonlight” tour. His portraits, on view in an exhibition in New York and titled Ricochet: David Bowie 1983, provide a candid insight into the private and personal side of the iconic figure. They show the singer in live and backstage shots, in front of a frenetic crowd, at rest, or in the street. “It was seeing the Ziggy Stardust concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1973 that inspired me to take up rock photography,” Denis O’Regan says.
