Photo London 2015 :

Preview

For this first edition of Photo London, L’Oeil de la Photographie contacted each of the galleries to ask them about their participation to this new London Fair dedicated to photography. The galleries also wished to share with us an emblematic picture presented on their stand  during Photo London. Focus on International galleries.

• Photo Gallery International – Tokyo, Japan
“During our participation to AIPAD this last three years, I met a large and  wonderful audience who were interested in our artists and to have  the experience of working  with the  foreign galleries , we realized the importance of the role played by Japanese photography and noticed that there are many more great photographers in Japan who should be introduced worldwide. We persuaded ourselves that Photo London is a new opportunity for that.”

• Michael Reid – Sydney, Australia
“Thanks’ to Smart phones almost everyone in the word is a photographer. It is therefore not surprising that many people in today’s art world are gaining a greater appreciation for collecting contemporary photography. Photo media is today’s growing art market. The gallery Michael Reid (Sydney + Berlin) has decided to bookend our year with Photo London in May & Paris Photo in November (fingers crossed). The gallery looks to Photo London as our first art fair of the year. It’s an art market thing.”

“Yossi Milo Gallery is pleased to participate in the inaugural year of Photo London, taking place at the historic Somerset House. We are excited to be included in this international fair in such a great city – London is home to many major museums, galleries, and collectors, and boasts a vibrant community of artists. Michael Benson, director of Photo London, has put together a strong list of exhibitors with innovative programming, including talks, book signings, and performances.
