photo l.a. is the longest-running international photography fair on the West Coast and has hosted over 700 galleries, private dealers, and publishers since its inception in 1992. The highly anticipated 28th edition of photo l.a. will take place January 30 – February 2, 2020.
Quote from Claudia James Bartlett, Director and Owner of photo l.a.:
“For nearly three decades, photo l.a. has united the far-reaching relationships within the photography community to offer a dynamic, insider’s view of photography. We want everyone attending to experience the excitement surrounding photography and its relationship to our everyday lives. What I love about photography and want to share is its breadth of influence.
For this edition of photo l.a., I’m excited to see Danziger Gallery’s presentation of Paul Fusco’s The RFK Funeral Train. These photographs celebrate the idealism and diversity of America, which is an inspiring reminder and something I feel we need to be reminded of and even comforted by at this moment in time.
Other noteworthy work will be presented by the gallery ADVOCARTSY in a curated booth of works by Iranian contemporary photographers around the theme of identity and migration. I’m also excited to see in person the beautiful yet haunting work by Florian Ruiz, a French artist and winner of the 2018 Sony prize, who questions the relationship between photography and environmental issues presented by galerie SIT DOWN from Paris.”
