In “grand reportage”, as for the rest, there are some very good series and some tourist style stories a lot less exhilarating in search of sensational discoveries. And then there can be the exceptional. Because there are still a few photographers who master the light, the technique and above all the instinct of the moment.
The result is there !
This collection of photographs corresponds to the work normally expected in a reportage from elsewhere. But here, not only, is it the local population that invites itself to our home. It is us who are parachuted into their environment, so hostile in this case, in order to confront our differences on what is acceptable depending on the side from which we come.
Valerie, like all great authentic reporters, does not take sides, she observes. In addition, she offers us this little bonus that allows each of us to form our own opinion, even to reinforce it or to annihilate it if we already had one.
