Buffalo Bill traded his rifle for a camera. He went to hunt the semi-wild bison in the snowy plains. The glance, the instinct, the anticipation allow him to fix the intelligence, even the frightened animal or the resignation of the bovid considered the most intelligent by the Native Americans.
Jean Philippe Borg gives the impression of an instinctive person who knows how to anticipate his shots. He seems to be involved in his subject. The bison in the snow is natural, we invite ourselves in the image with him, the snow in the belt, the icy blizzard, nothing surprises us. These are the images of Life, it is the course of Life which unfolds through the grace of very static photographs, … very static
The contrasts, the balance will force us to settle down, to get involved in this natural history that surrounds us. This collection of works had to be in Aubrac.
