The second part of Phot’Aix is called “Le Parcours”, a long way through the streets of Aix en Provence to discover here or there one of the 25 photographic exhibitions, corganised into five major categories, intersperse along the paths of the city and are even exported to Arles for a few creators.
In this series of exhibitions, we cannot ignore the two winners of a lot of prizes and exhibitions dedicated to photography. First there is Magdéleine Ferru who presents one of her latest research focused on nature and her personal environment. It is also possible to see some photographs of Christiane Sintès with her work in progress on a kind of nostalgia for photographic creations very up to date ten years ago. These two photographers enjoy great notoriety in the microcosm of events center around so-called “contemporary” photography.
In addition, I have retained Nicolas Dumas XIII with a small series of still lifes which surprise by their simplicity, their incoherence and an incongruous naivety which reflects this time when the form is no longer essential, it became the work itself since the content of the subject has completely disappeared.
Finally, the exhibited works of Eric Ribot, totally denote and really emerge from the whole. The imagination, the work, the interrelation, the humour, the technical mastery, a real coherence in the series and in the approach, and everything does not need to be written.
