Departed from Assisi, crossing over land and sea with no material means, encountering a thousand faces of humanity, Philippe Joudiou returns transformed, affected by expressions of spirituality, societal and philosophical tradition, far from Western mentalities.
This book, illustrated by black and white full-page photos making up half of the book, takes us, 70 years later, on the discovery of countries, cultures and religions to date largely ignored.
Born in 1922 in northern France, Philippe Joudiou engages in artistic studies. He undertakes the trip to India in September 1947, desiring, after Lanza Del Vasto, meeting with Gandhi. Lanza Del Vasto at that time, was engaged in interreligious dialogue, spiritual awakening and an interest in ecological action.
