Ag Galerie presents Peyman Hooshmandzadeh’s solo exhibition titled, “His Excellency the Cock”.
Hooshmandzadeh was still a few meters away from the brood of chicken when he notices their intense expressions of jealousy and aggression. He begins photographing them and after seeing the images, realizes that they appear to be almost human, expressing emotions and gestures which we assume are only reserved for us.
This series is a social commentary on our male-dominated society. However, it is also a critique of our human assumption that we are a higher being than other animals.
